Written and directed by Academy Award® winner David S. Ward, Major League tells a classic worst-to-first story, featuring an outstanding cast lead by Tom Berenger. Released in 1989, Major League marked the screen debut for both Rene Russo and Dennis Haysbert and provided new-comer Wesley Snipes with his first comedic role. Hot off his appearances in Platoon and Wall Street, young Charlie Sheen slipped easily into his role of the punk-pitcher, "Wild Thing". Considered a commercial success, the film was followed by two sequels Major League II and Major League: Back to the Minors.
