When a woman is attacked and killed after leaving a lesbian bar, Jane and Maura at first believe this is an anti-gay hate crime committed by a man. But female DNA turns up on the murder weapon, and suddenly the suspect list includes the victim's wife -- or perhaps one of the gals the victim picked up at the bar. In a quest for matching DNA, Jane goes undercover as a lesbian to chat up suspects while Maura (playing a seductively costumed waitress) surreptitiously collects drinks glasses for DNA testing.

Meanwhile, on the disastrous-romance front (of the heterosexual variety), Jane dates a gorgeous guy who's wildly attracted to her ... but only because she'll work and support him so that he can be a househusband. Definitely not Jane's cup of tea!

This episode featured some great guest stars, including Missi Pyle, whom I'll always remember fondly from "Galaxy Quest," and gorgeous out-actress Deborah Stewart. I was glad to see the Massachusetts same-sex marriage law mentioned.

There were so many funny moments in this episode, from the flirty banter between Jane and Maura to the priceless expressions of Frost and Korsak. And there were some surprises, too: Jane really does get kissed by a girl! Maura parades around wearing a push-up bra! But the funniest scenes? When Jane and Maura play the conversational game of "If I were gay, what kind of girl would I go for?" And the laugh-out-loud scene when Frost and Korsak listen in on Jane's wired conversations. We find out that Korsak's been married (and divorced) three times. And we get a pretty strong inkling that Frost has a major crush on Maura. I can't wait to see how that develops!
