In WANTED, Hurst plays Jimmy McGloin, ATF. The team's firearms expert, he is also its most conservative member and has to endure endless ribbing about his high morals and clean lifestyle.
Ryan Hurst burst onto the entertainment scene with his breakout performance as football team captain Gerry Bertier in the feature film Remember the Titans, opposite Denzel Washington. A talented stage and screen actor, he received the Best Performance in a Comedy award from Backstage West for his performance in the Canon Theater's production of The Last Night of Ballyhoo (1998), opposite Rhea Perlman. The son of veteran character actor Rick Hurst (The Dukes of Hazzard's Deputy Cletus Hogg) and well-respected acting teacher Candy Kaniecki, he was born and raised in Santa Monica, Calif. He started doing television commercials at an early age and landed his first role on the long-running television series Saved by the Bell, playing recurring character Crunch Grabowski. Since then, he has guest-starred in such television series as Medium, JAG, Touched by an Angel, Boston Common, L.A. Doctors, Dr. Vegas and Wings. Hurst has also compiled an impressive list of film credits, including roles in Steven Spielberg's Saving Private Ryan and Taken; The Coen Brothers' remake of The Ladykillers, with Tom Hanks; We Were Soldiers, with Mel Gibson; Rules of Engagement, with Samuel L. Jackson; and Patch Adams, with Robin Williams.
Branching out behind the scenes, Hurst directed all of the 16mm footage that appeared in the film Remember the Titans, as well as directed and starred in his own adaptation of Cyrano de Bergerac for the Santa Monica Civic Light Opera. He founded the Viking Underground actors' repertory company and is executive producer/co-founder of Fast Shoes Productions, a film company that develops projects and nurtures talent outside the studio system. He recently finished production on a 30-minute 35mm short film that he wrote and directed.
Recently married to his longtime girlfriend, the couple reside in Los Angeles.
