Kris Kristofferson

Kris Kristofferson was born in Brownsville, Texas, to an Air Force Major-General and spent his youth moving around the country, finishing high school in San Mateo, CA. He graduated Pomona college and received a degree in Creative Writing and was then awarded a Rhodes Scholarship to Oxford University.
Kris Kristofferson began acting in 1971 with his first film,
The Last Movie, starring Dennis Hopper. He went on to star in
A Star Is Born with Barbra Streisand for which he won the Golden Globe® for best actor. Over his 30-year career, Kristofferson has starred in more than 80 feature and television films, including
Blade,
Blade2: Bloodlust;
Blade 3: Trinity, with Wesley Snipes;
Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore, with Ellen Burstyn; and
Heaven's Gate, with Christopher Walken. Kristofferson also starred in Sam Peckinpah's
Pat Garrett and Billy the Kid; and John Sayles'
Lone Star,
Limbo and
Silver City. Kris received an Oscar® nomination for best original score for his film
Songwriter, in which he starred with his pal Willie Nelson.
Kristofferson's songs have been performed by major recording artists and he has been on tour performing with longtime friends Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings and the late Johnny Cash. He recently received the honor of being inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame.
