Rick Schroder has achieved 30 years of success in the entertainment industry. Born in 1970 in Brooklyn, New York, Rick started modeling and doing commercials at a very young age. By age 8, he was cast in
The Champ opposite Jon Voight and Faye Dunaway, for which he became one of the youngest recipients to receive a Golden Globe® for his performance. His success catapulted him to child stardom, going on to work with industry greats like William Holden in
The Earthling and Sir Alec Guinness in
Little Lord Fauntleroy.
When Schroder was 12, he signed on to his own hit television series,
Silver Spoons. At age 18, he landed the very successful show
Lonesome Dove, acting along side Robert Duvall, Tommy Lee Jones, Denzel Washington, Anjelica Huston and Diane Lane.
Schroder has kept the pace of his career going with projects like
Crimson Tide, with Denzel Washington;
Across the Tracks, with Brad Pitt;
Texas, a mini-series with Benjamin Bratt; and A&E's
The Lost Battalion. He then joined the cast of
NYPD Blue in 1998.
Schroder has achieved a new level of personal and professional success with his feature-film directorial debut,
Black Cloud. He wrote, directed, acted in and produced the film and is now independently distributing the film. Rick is set to direct his next film in the spring.
