Kelly Hu
Q: How did you become involved with this movie?
A: The casting process was pretty interesting. I've known Dean Devlin for years, and I bumped into him at a function and he said, "You know, I might have this role you'd be perfect for." I thought he'd never call, but he called and offered me the role. I was literally on the plane the next day.
Q: What is your character, Lana, like?
A: Lana is a bad girl who's worked for David Fisher's character, Rhodes, for a long time. She's sort of punk rock and an adventure seeker. She and Rhodes go trekking through the jungles and running after Noah and Sonya's characters. We chase them through the pyramids and the Himalayas.
Q: In the movie, you guys are on a quest for something called the Spear of Destiny. What is the Spear of Destiny and why is it important?
A: The spear is broken into three parts, and each part is hidden in a different place. The first part is in the library, and apparently, when you fuse all the parts together, you can conquer the world. Supposedly, Hitler had only one part and he was supposed to be so powerful. Whoever has all three pieces will be able to suck the soul out of your body, as David Fisher's character, Rhodes, finds out.
Q: What is it like working with Noah Wyle?
A: He's amazing. He's such a great person and has such a great sense of humor. I thoroughly enjoyed watching his scenes, especially with Kyle MacLachlan. They're amazing together. Their chemistry is so great, and it's such a fun movie to watch.
Q: What do you want people to know about the movie?
A: It's a fun ride. It's definitely not reality-based and is just fun. It'll bring out the child, I think, in everyone. It's got action and romance. There is a little bit for everybody.
