A Conversation with Jemma Redgrave
Q: How would you describe THE GRID?
A: It's an incredibly exciting thriller about modern Islamic fundamentalist terrorism and the various intelligence networks trying to defeat this modern evil.
Q: Describe your character.
A: I play Emily Tuthill, who comes from MI6. She's an interesting character. She's very much a lone wolf. She works totally independently and is intensely resentful of being asked to, and being pressured to, work with the other agencies. She's very bright, feisty, tough and determined. She's also reckless and lives absolutely in the moment.
Q: What is it like working with Julianna Margulies?
A: It's such a privilege for me work with an actress of the caliber of Julianna Margulies. I enjoyed every single moment of it. She's such a terrific actress.
Q: Where do you think the drama comes from in this story?
A: Drama is conflict, and THE GRID is packed with conflict - conflicting opinions. It's a literal battle between two opposing ideologies. It's full of intrigue.
Q: When people watch this, how do you hope they react?
A: I hope they take away a sense that the intelligence agencies are working really hard. There's so much bravery and incredible work being done by these people who continually put their lives at risk for the safety of the rest of us.
