Mikael Salomon

Mikael Salomon made his directing debut in 1992 with the CBS pilot Space Rangers, which was subsequently picked up by the network. He went on to work on the series The Fugitive and The Agency. Salomon directed the first and final episodes for the award-winning HBO limited series Band of Brothers, produced by Tom Hanks and Steven Spielberg. He won an Emmy for his directorial work on this series. He also directed the miniseries Aftershock for CBS, Sole Survivor for Fox and, most recently, Salem's Lot, based on the Stephen King novel of the same name, for TNT. Prior to directing, he received Academy AwardŽ nominations for the cinematography on The Abyss and for the visual effects on Backdraft, directed by Ron Howard, for whom he also shot Far & Away. He also won a Danish Academy Award for The Flying Devils and a Danish Film Critic's Award for Hearts Are Trump. In 1986, Salomon won the CableACE for his first U.S. project, HBO's The Man Who Broke 1000 Chains. Prior to Salomon's directing debut, he had shot more than 50 features in the United States and Europe, and he is an accomplished commercial director.
