Q: Why was THE WINNING SEASON chosen for a JOHNSON & JOHNSON SPOTLIGHT PRESENTATION^SM?
A: In 2002, we established the JOHNSON & JOHNSON SPOTLIGHT PRESENTATION^SM series as part of our ongoing efforts to broaden the number of television options families can view together. As part of this initiative, we are looking for inspirational and uplifting films that nurture and reinforce families and the bonds between parents and their children. THE WINNING SEASON is a captivating story about Joe Soshack, a 12-year-old baseball fanatic, who finds a mint condition Honus Wagner baseball card that magically takes him back in time to the 1909 World Series. Joe embarks on an amazing journey that will change his, Honus' and Mandy's lives as he tries to find his way back home. Like our previous JOHNSON & JOHNSON SPOTLIGHT PRESENTATION^SM films, Wilder Days, Miss Lettie & Me and the Emmy®-winning Door-to-Door, it is a movie that the entire family can watch together.

Q: How was this cast chosen and what did the actors bring to their roles?
A: The film is set in two different time periods-- 1909 and 1985. The cast of characters includes real-life baseball players who played in the 1909 World Series. When we made our casting decisions, we were looking for actors who we thought could portray the characters as genuinely and believable as possible. We think the audience will be transfixed by the performances given by Matthew Modine, Kristin Davis and Shawn Hatosy.

Q: What message do you hope the viewers will take away after seeing this movie?
A: This is a story about second chances. Through his experiences, Joe comes to realize Honus' words of wisdom in which he tells him, "There's always a reason why things happen -- you just have to believe." Honus' advice becomes a guiding force in Joe's life. We hope that our viewers will enjoy the journey to Joe's enlightenment.
