Jan Korbelin

Jan Korbelin has a wide area of expertise, ranging from television programming, development, management and marketing to financing. He is a founding partner and managing director of Screenvest, a film and television financing company that raises capital for media product, with offices in Los Angeles and Munich. Screenvest recently formed a joint venture with film fund Apollo Media, called ApolloScreen, to finance international television productions with a volume of approximately $100 million to produce international film and television. Korbelin is currently executive-producing several telefilms, including Raptor Island for Sci Fi Channel and 30 Days Until I'm Famous for VH-1, as well as the feature film Crash for Stratus-Film, which is currently shooting in Los Angeles.

Before launching Screenvest in 2001, Korbelin started Vertikal Entertainment, an international television and film development and production company with a focus on co-productions and international programs, in partnership with production executive Marla Ginsburg (Highlander and Nikita television series). Vertikal developed several television series and movies for broadcasters in the United States, France and Germany (such as TNT, FX Networks, USA Networks, BBC, M6, ProSieben).

Until 1998, Korbelin was the president of entertainment, news and information of ProSieben Television. As part of ProSieben Media AG, ProSieben Television is one of the leading commercial television networks in Germany and the first German Media Company to go public. As the head of programming, Korbelin was responsible for developing the network into one of the most highly respected and innovative private television stations in the world today. He began his career in German television in 1991 at the Kirch Group. Korbelin went on to work at the private television station SAT.1 in 1992 until he was hired by ProSieben Television in 1993.
