  • Barkley is in his fifth full season as an NBA studio analyst and for the Emmy award-winning studio show Inside the NBA on TNT with host Ernie Johnson and analyst Kenny Smith. Analysts Magic Johnson and Reggie Miller join them for appearances throughout the season on Inside, which follows TNT's exclusive Thursday night NBA coverage.

  • In 2002-03, Barkley was featured in a 30-minute Thursday night talk show series on TNT called Listen Up! Charles Barkley with Ernie Johnson and Kenny Smith. The live, studio-based show aired prior to TNT's exclusive Thursday night NBA coverage and encompassed a wide range of topics, from sports to news to entertainment.

  • Barkley was named the Sports Illustrated's 2002 "Personality of the Year."

    CAREER
  • Barkley retired after the 1999-2000 NBA season, which was his 16th season as an NBA player.

  • Barkley began his career with the Philadelphia 76ers in 1984, and after eight seasons was traded to the Phoenix Suns prior to the 1992-93 season.

  • After four seasons in Phoenix, he was traded to the Houston Rockets in August 1996.

  • He won the NBA's MVP Award in 1993, is a five-time All-NBA first team selection, and was a member of 11 All-Star teams.

  • Charles was the leading scorer for the gold medal-winning 1992 Olympic Dream Team and the 1996 Olympic Team.

  • Barkley is 16th all-time in NBA scoring and is one of only four players in NBA history with 23,000 points, 12,000 rebounds, and 4,000 assists.

    PERSONAL
  • Won a 2001 Sports Emmy as a studio analyst on TNT's postgame NBA show, Inside the NBA.

  • Charles has authored three books: Outrageous! (2004), I May Be Wrong but I Doubt It (2002) and Who's Afraid of a Large Black Man (2005)

  • He played parts in the movies Hot Shots!, Look Who's Talking Now, Forget Paris, Space Jam and He Got Game.

  • He has his own Nike shoe called "CB4"

  • He hosted the season premiere of Saturday Night Live on Sept. 25, 1993.

  • Mr. Barkley has made numerous donations to the Auburn University Foundation, the Cornerstone Schools in Alabama, Leeds High School (his alma mater), Macedonia Baptist Church (Leeds, AL) and the Minority Health & Research Center at UAB Birmingham.
