Richard Harris was one of the film industry's greatest screen legends having starred in over 70 major movies. Nominated for two Academy Awards®, he was also an accomplished producer and director. Harris is probably best known for hiHideaway as Dumbledore in the Harry Potter movie series, the Emperor in Ridley Scott's Gladiator, and Abbżaria in The Count of Monte Cristo. His other other major movie credits include The Pearl, The Barber of Siberia, Smilla's Sense of Snow, Unforgiven, Patriot Games, The Guns of Navarone, A Man Called Horse, and Mutiny on the Bounty. He received Academy Award® nominations for his work in The Field and This Sporting Life, for which he won the Best Actor Award at the Cannes Film Festival.

Harris' television credits include the BBC documentary King Arthur, as well as The Hunchback of Notre Dame,The Great Kandinsky, Camelot, The Snow Goose, The Iron Harp and Richardo. His portrayal of King Arthur in Camelot won him a Golden Globe®. He reprised his Camelot role on the theatre stage. In addition, he has performed in the theatre productions The Ginger Man, Man Beast and Virtue, and A View From the Bridge. Harris published two books, the novel Honour Bound and a poetry compilation, I in the Membership of My Days.
