Dan Halsted
(Executive Producer)

Dan Halsted recently produced Beyond Borders, starring Angelina Jolie and Clive Owen, and Serving Sara, starring Matthew Perry and Elizabeth Hurley, which will be released summer 2002 by Paramount Pictures. He also served as executive producer on the telepic The Day Reagan Was Shot, starring Richard Dreyfuss, for Showtime. Most recently, he teamed up with financier Gary Gilbert to form Camelot Pictures, and they have numerous projects in development.

Under his company's banner of Halsted Pictures, Halsted produced Art of War, starring Wesley Snipes; Sofia Coppola's directorial debut, The Virgin Suicides; and Any Given Sunday, starring Al Pacino, Cameron Diaz and Jamie Foxx. Prior to those films, he served as president of Illusion Entertainment Group, a partnership with Oliver Stone, and produced the Academy Award┐nominated Nixon, The Corruptor, U-Turn, Freeway and Cold Around the Heart. He also executive-produced the award-winning documentary Assassinated: The Last Days of Kennedy and King.

A graduate of UCLA with a degree in political science, Halsted started his career as an executive assistant to Scott Rudin at Twentieth Century Fox, who was then head of production. He moved on to Bauer-Benedek Agency, which later became United Talent Agency, packaging such films as K-9, The Fabulous Baker Boys, New Jack City, Robocop, There's Something About Mary and The Untouchables. When he became executive vice president at Hollywood Pictures, he oversaw such films as The Hand That Rocks the Cradle, Mr. Holland's Opus, Encino Man, Son in Law, Tombstone, Evita and While You Were Sleeping. Halsted returns as executive producer of WITCHBLADE.
