A Conversation with Lisa Sanderson
(Executive Producer)

Q: What interested you about this project?
A: We developed this from an idea, so we were really able to mold it into the story we wanted to tell. I loved that Santa was taking a new form from the old traditional Santa that we always think of. The beauty is that Santa stands for everything we dreamed of and more.

Q: What special attributes does Whoopi Goldberg bring to the role of Santa Claus?
A: There is only one Whoopi, and everyone loves her. She is funny, smart and deep, and she has a voice. She is a symbol in the world of someone who believes in dreams and makes them happen. She also makes other people's dreams come true -- she sure did for Garth and me. There was only one person for Garth and me as we envisioned our dream, and that red suit has never looked better. Whoopi is Santa, and, for years to come, the brilliance shown in her performance will be a reminder that, in your life, you can bring so much to so many with an open heart. She brings the title of Santa to a higher level.

Q: Who do you hope the film will appeal to?
A: Everyone, young and old. It's a universal theme that I hope will put a smile on the face of children worldwide. I also hope it reaches older people who have forgotten how special the holidays are. Whatever your religion or traditions may be, it's an ageless movie. You just need to let yourself feel, and I think you will be thankful for the ride.

Q: What message do you hope people will take away from the film?
A: Life is a canvas. Create who you want to be in the world. Be true to your heart and laugh, love and believe.

Q: What are some of your most memorable Christmas moments?
A: Running down the stairs with my sister on Christmas morning. We were so excited to see what surprises Santa left for us. I can still see my grandparents pulling up in their cream-colored car with bags of toys. I just thought it was the greatest day of my life. I loved my grandparents more than anything, and to be with family is what Christmas is all about -- family meaning the people you love the most.

Q: What is your favorite Christmas movie?
A: A Charlie Brown Christmas. It's timeless, and the message is so beautiful and simple.
