Don Ohlmeyer
(Monday Night Football Producer )

Don Ohlmeyer left his post as producer of ABC's Monday Night Football® in 1977, when he assumed the role of executive producer of sports for NBC. There he worked on the network's coverage of the World Series and Super Bowl and also segued into entertainment, producing network films. In 1982, Ohlmeyer left NBC and launched Ohlmeyer Communications, a production company that created television movies, series and specials. In 1993, he returned to NBC, this time as president of West Coast Operations, overseeing NBC Entertainment, NBC Studios and NBC Enterprises. He is credited for launching network hit series including Friends, ER, Late Night with Conan O'Brien, Frasier and Will & Grace which propelled the network from third-place in prime time to first. Ohlmeyer retired from his position at NBC in 1999, but was lured back into production for a year when he returned to ABC's Monday Night Football®. He recruited new sports talent and comedian Dennis Miller to the show. Throughout his career Ohlmeyer has received many honors including 16 Emmys, two Peabody Awards, the Cine Golden Eagle Award, the Miami Film Festival Award, the National Film Board award, the Glaad Media Award and three Humanitas Prizes.
