A former school teacher and model from Houston, Texas, gospel superstar Yolanda Adams brings a wide range of influences into her unique gospel sound. Her 1988 debut album "Just As I Am" established her as a force that transcended the traditional Gospel stereotype. Her platinum Grammy- winning album "Mountain High...Valley Low" featured the hit "Open My Heart" (produced by Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis) which went to #1 on Billboard's Gospel and Contemporary Christian Charts. Recently, Adams won five Stellar Awards, Gospels highest honor.
