Got any questions for author David Baldacci? Post them on the King & Maxwell Facebook page
Is Michelle Maxwell as physically tough in the novels as she is in the television series?
Yes she is. She can kick Sean's butt and he knows it. I wanted to reverse the stereotypes one usually sees in this genre and make the woman even more physically intimidating than the male partner. I grew up with strong, independent women and I'm married to one, whose name by the way is Michelle! So that's really the sort of women I write about in my books. I don't know any damsels in distress.
How much input did you have in casting Jon Tenney and Rebecca Romijn as Sean King and Michelle Maxwell?
I watched each of the audition reels. I think we all knew very early on that Jon Tenney was the perfect Sean. We looked at quite a few women for Michelle but when Rebecca came onto the scene, we knew we had our Michelle as well. Sometimes it's just a visceral feeling. You just know it. And their chemistry was immediate. That's what you need in a two-hander like this: chemistry. If you have that then the viewers will come back week after week and you have a hit show.
