Made in the tradition of the great romantic comedies, writer/director Nora Ephron's Sleepless in Seattle has a distinctive '90s twist. Sam Baldwin (Tom Hanks) and Annie Reed (Meg Ryan) are two star-crossed lovers who have never actually met. Sam, a single dad who lives in Seattle, is trying to put his life back together after the death of his beloved wife. Annie, who lives in Baltimore, is a romantic pragmatist who just became engaged to a man who is perfect on paper, but something is missing.... Could that something be "magic"?
