True Crime,

Veteran journalist Steve Everett (Clint Eastwood) has a drinking problem, a reputation for using women and a gut attraction to a good news story. After a colleague's unexpected death, Everett's editor, Alan Mann (James Woods), gives him an assignment to follow a convicted killer around on the day of his execution. The assignment is clearly for a feature piece, but Everett senses there is more to the story after he meets resigned inmate Frank Beachum (Isaiah Washington). Suddenly the clock is ticking. Everett has 24 hours to prove that Beachum is not a killer. Everett races to the conclusion of True Crime as he tries to redeem Beachum and his own sense of right and wrong.
