Vincent Spano
(Tony Di Cenzo)
Since his big break opposite Rosanna Arquette in John Sayles' Italian-Catholic-boy-meets-Jewish-girl romance
Baby It's You, Vincent Spano has proved himself a versatile and skilled actor. Born in New York, he developed an interest in acting at a young age and was pursuing the profession by age 13. He acted in his first two feature films at age 15, including Jonathan Kaplan's
Over the Edge. At 18, he was cast in
The Black Stallion Returns and was welcomed into Francis Coppola's Zoetrope family, which produced the film. In less than a year, Spano added Coppola's
Rumblefish to his professional repertoire, along with
Baby It's You. His other film roles include Amos Poe's
Alphabet City; Andre Konchalovsky's
Maria's Lovers;
Creator, with Peter O'Toole;
Good Morning Babylon, directed by the acclaimed Tavianni Brothers;
Alive, directed by
Frank Marshall; and a comedic turn in John Landis'
Oscar.
For his role in Showtime's
Blood Ties, Spano was nominated for the CableACE for Best Actor.
Recently, Spano received critical acclaim for his performance as a “justice fighter” in the Sci-Fi channel's feature-length pilot
Deathlands: Homeward Bound. He also recently starred in
The Jenifer Estess Story, with Laura San Giacomo, Annabella Sciorra and Marisa Tomei;
Texas Rangers, with Dylan McDermott; the angelic-lore thriller
Prophecy III: The Ascent, with Christopher Walken;
A Brooklyn State of Mind, with Danny Aiello;
The Unknown Cyclist, with Lea Thompson; and NBC's undercover-cop drama
Prince Street.
