Angie Harmon
(Assistant District Attorney Abbie Carmichael)

Originally, from Houston, Texas, ADA Abbie Carmichael joined homicide prosecution after making a name for herself in narcotics prosecution. An ambitious and independent young attorney, she often clashes with McCoy over how a case should be prosecuted. Her personal experience as a victim of rape has made her particularly aggressive when going after sex crime offenders.

Like her character Abbie Carmichael, Harmon grew up in Texas where she competed on her high school track team. But unlike the Assistant District Attorney, Harmon came to New York City to pursue her career as a top model. She later turned to acting and made her network television debut starring opposite Eric Roberts in the ABC series C-16. Harmon then played private detective Ryan McBride on the syndicated TV series Baywatch Nights before joining the cast of Law & Order. 2001 has been a big year for the 28-year-old actress as she married New York Giants cornerback Jason Sehorn in June (after a surprise proposal to her on Jay Leno's Tonight Show) and announced her departure from Law & Order after three successful seasons.
