Benjamin Bratt
(Detective Reynaldo "Rey" Curtis )

Det. Curtis (Season 9) was partnered with Briscoe in 1995. A devout Catholic and father of three, his police work was often colored by his strong beliefs and ideals. Yet the family man was not without reproach, and his good looks inevitably got him in trouble from time to time. Green replaced Curtis when the young detective left the precinct to spend more time with his wife, who was diagnosed with a rapidly degenerating form of multiple sclerosis.

In 1995 Bratt joined the cast of Law & Order as the sexy yet stoic Detective Reynaldo "Rey" Curtis. Like many of his co-stars on the series, Bratt began his professional acting career on the stage. A native of California, he gravitated toward television work, but his first two pilots, Juarez and Lovers, Partners & Spies, failed to get picked up. However, in 1998 Bratt starred in the short-lived Knightwatch before joining another drama, NBC's Nasty Boys, which happened to be produced by Law & Order creator/producer, Dick Wolf. Bratt left Law & Order after three seasons and has since been busy making feature films, including The Next Best Thing, Red Planet, Miss Congeniality and Traffic.
