With his distinctly different personality and background, at first Briscoe clashed with his new partner, Det. Green (Seasons 10-11.) But the compulsive and passionate Green wants the same results as his more seasoned partner: to catch the suspect and build a case that will bring him/her to justice. Known for his aggressive and cunning interrogation style, Green must sometimes be reined in by Lt. Van Buren. However, his enthusiasm for his work is matched by his loyalty and sense of integrity.

An NYU graduate and classically trained stage actor, Martin was one of the original cast members of the Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award-winning musical Rent. He has appeared in numerous television series, including 413 Hope Street, New York Undercover, and Ally McBeal where he played Ally's hunky doctor boyfriend. He recently completed the television movie Deep in My Heart with Anne Bancroft and Gloria Reuben, and starred with Lauryn Hill in the indie film The Restaurant. Martin has portrayed Det. Green for the past two seasons.
