Tough and ambitious, Ross was formerly a defense attorney with Gorton & Steinhart and is now divorced from attorney Neal Gorton, with whom she struggles for custody of their young daughter.

Carey Lowell joins the cast of Law & Order as Assistant District Attorney Jamie Ross for the series' seventh season. Born in Huntington, Long Island, Lowell's geologist-father moved the family frequently, and while growing up, she lived in Libya, Holland, France, Houston and Denver. After a year at the University of Colorado at Boulder, Lowell headed for New York City to pursue a modeling career and soon found herself studying acting. Hitting it big with audiences in the James Bond thriller License to Kill, other film credits include Sleepless in Seattle, Leaving Las Vegas, The Guardian and Fierce Creatures. On the small screen, credits include a lead role in the television series A League of Their Own.
