William B. Davis
(Smoking Man)

William B. Davis' acting career began in Toronto when he was just 11 years old in a summer stock festival in Ontario, Canada. He followed with roles on stage and radio before continuing his education at the University of Toronto, where he earned a BA in Philosophy. He trained in England at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts, worked as a freelance director in British repertory theater and ran the Dundee Repertory Theatre in Scotland. From there he went to The National Theatre of Great Britain.

In 1965, Davis returned to Canada, where he became Artistic Director of the English Acting Program at Canada's National Theatre School. He now serves as director at The William B. Davis Centre for Actor's Study in Vancouver, British Columbia, and is the former Artistic Director of both the National Theatre School and the Vancouver Playhouse Acting School.

His feature film credits include The X-Files, Killing Moon, Voyage of the Damned, Beyond Obsession, Hitman, Omen IV, Matinee, Beyond the Stars, Look Who's Talking, Head Office and Dead Zone. For Television, Davis has appeared in TV movies such as Not Our Son, On Wings of Fear, Circumstances Unknown, Anything to Survive, It, Sworn to Silence and Shattered Dreams. Upcoming projects include Saint Sinner and Arbor Vitae.

He also has appeared in such television series as Sliders, Outer Limits, North of 60, Nightmare Cafe/i>, 21 Jump Street, Wiseguy, MacGyver, Street Justice, Captain Power and Airwolf.

Davis resides in Vancouver.
