Peter Levin

Through a career that spans more than three decades, Peter Levin has directed such notable made-for-television features as The Marva Collins Story, starring Cicely Tyson; Sworn to Silence, with Peter Coyote and Liam Neeson; Popeye Doyle, with Ed O’Neill; Overkill, starring Jean Smart; Little Girl Fly Away, with Mare Winningham; In the Name of the People, starring Amy Madigan; And Never Let Her Go, with Mark Harmon; the Christopher Award-winning Homeless to Harvard: The Liz Murray Story; and In from the Night, starring Marcia Gay Harden. His extensive series work includes directing episodes of Joan of Arcadia, The Guardian, Judging Amy, Chicago Hope, Cagney & Lacey, Law & Order and Lou Grant, the latter earning him an Emmy nomination. He also directed the pilots for Knots Landing and Palmerstown, U.S.A.

Prior to becoming a director, Levin performed as an actor in several Broadway plays. He trained at the prestigious Carnegie-Melon University, as well as in London on a Fulbright Scholarship and in New York under Lee Strasberg. His work as a theatre director includes productions at the Long Wharf Theatre and the Pacific Resident Theatre Co. He also co-founded the off-off-Broadway Loft Theatre (Hardware Poets Playhouse) and is currently serving as associate artist of The Interact Theatre Company.
