Shame on you! Shame on me! Hey, wait...there should be no shame for this weeks episode of Major Crimes...starting with the great shot of the street walker in the leopard jeggings then quick cuts of other girls of the night in white patent leather boots and less...it seems to take a village to design the costumes for a show like Major Crimes...in this episode alone we had a day of filming for the street walkers, another day devoted to shooting all of the t.v. coverage of out victim talking about Shannon's House and being filmed out in the field, all of the photo shoots took another day and then pulling together an entire unit of fatigue clad army personel for the scene with Provenza, Tao and Angel. And mind you these various shoot days were second unit shoots while we were shooting another episode of Major Crimes before we had even begun to shoot The Shame Game...thankfully I have a great costume crew that picks up the ball and runs with it and luckily we have a rolodex of extra costumers to call in for the days of work.

All of you fans that have been tweeting me sure seem to like Sharon Rador dressed in her dark colors, so tonight you all got your wish. I pulled out a seasons old Armani suit in a black wool crepe and added a new purchase of a multicolored silk blouse in steel gray, indigo blue and black. Many tweets asked if they could buy the clothes the see on the screen now, and unfortunately most of the shopping happens in the "prep" of the show which was last spring. Perhaps some items might be available at Neiman Marcus outlets across the country.

I loved how Provenza played the "grandfather" to Rusty's bratty reaction to finding out his "biological father" was in the break room. And the mere fact that Sharon became so emotional really made Rusty realize what he has. The acting in that scene alone was Emmy worthy for all three. And speaking of the Emmy's. How quickly they forget...just a few years ago Kyra had been nominated so many times and not won and then all of a sudden BAM she tool home the Golden Girl...and now, not a mention of that great show...the gowns for me this year were rather a yawn. I loved Emily Van Camp's gray chiffon gown by J Mendel and there seemed to be a lot of Bob Mackie knock offs in the all over beaded creations worn by Sofia Vergara and Lucy Liu...tired in my eyes. I liked the pops of color and body conscious gowns, but over all I miss the real hits and major misses that used to be the reason we all watched the awards shows and before the time of "stylists".

It was fun to work with a couple guest actors this episode, the pimp and his lawyer...we had worked together on a couple different projects years ago. Hollywood is a small town. And now to meet Rusty's dad in this character episode arc is great...the first time they locked eyes between the glass was priceless. I gotta say again, what amazing actors we have working on Major Crimes. By the Facebook buzz, and the TNT message boards and the tweets I've been reading we are lucky to have major fans for this first season of Major Crimes...now, lets just get the major news that Major Crimes has been picked up for another major season of crimes of fashion!
