One of the coolest things about working on The Closer, is that this company doesn't put people in a box. Well, unless they're the victim in a murder and we find them broken, bent in half, and shoved into an igloo cooler, but that's just fiction. I mean, in real life, we are allowed to be many things.
An Actor can be a Producer, a Hairstylist can be a Composer, and Napolean Dynamite's Grandma can be a proper church secretary. It's true! Sandy Martin guest starred in this episode, and she played completely against type. She's a brilliant actress who is cast quite a bit in comedic and quirky roles. In this episode, she tried to stand in Brenda's way of justice. And she thought the Almighty was tough? Ha!
This is totally unrelated to the actual episode, but I thought you guys might get a kick out of it! One day at lunch, we decided to have a little fun with the "photo booth" in my laptop. To see if we could be something completely different. Here's a photo of myself with Mary, Michele, and Araxi having a bit of a laugh.
And you may not recognize this guy with me, but it's none other that Sir Greg of LaVoi. We made a little video called "Planet Fashion King," and this is a screen shot from that. I'm not including the video. It's too ridiculous! Oooh! If you look closely on the counter behind us? You'll see the bag that Greg made for "Missy Michaels" in my episode, "Star Turn." That bag is still making the rounds, and I swear, it's gong to wind up in my closet!
So I found a way to have some laughs, pinch a purse, and shape-shift with my friends during an episode about murder, confession, and holy wrath. And by that, I means Brenda's.
Oh, and this episode was expertly directed by D-Mac, David McWhirter.
Because in this company, Directors can also be 1st A.D's.
Stacey has been burnin' hair on Hollywood TV and Film sets since 1996. She is a two-time Emmy nominee for her Hair Styling prowess on "GLEE." Her other credits include the feature films "THE STEPFATHER," "RUNNING WITH SCISSORS," "THE MINUS MAN," and TV Series "NIP/TUCK," "JAKE IN PROGRESS," "THE D.A.," "EZ STREETS," "PROVIDENCE," "CSI:NY," "TOTAL SECURITY," TNT's "THE CLOSER," and the new "MAJOR CRIMES," where she is enjoying season 1 as Department Head Hairstylist. Stacey also made the jump to Director during season 6 of The Closer, on the episode "Last Woman Standing," and since the episode didn't suck, she was handed the reigns once again for her second episode,"Star Turn," during season 7. She somehow snowed the powers-that-be into letting her direct an episode of "Major Crimes" during season 1. Her methods of persuasion remain a mystery. She also enjoys making music and movies. And hobo salmon.
