Welcome to my first Fashion File posting. Greg LaVoi here, costume designer for "The Closer". I am thrilled to be giving you all the in’s and out’s of Brenda Leigh Johnson’s quirky closet and fashion hits and misses. We all know about Brenda’s hits and misses…her favorite color of pink; her love of floral prints and flowing skirts; her bottomless hand bag and those oh-so retro vintage jackets. I’ll be answering your questions, telling you where you can find that particular skirt or shoe, and shedding some light on why Brenda wears what she wears. Let’s just file this under “F” for Fabulous!

Has anyone noticed that this familiar print skirt and top, which appeared in the pilot, always makes a return visit in episode one and in the final episode? This particular outfit is very sentimental to Brenda, as she wore it her first day on the job at the LAPD. So as a bit of an ode to that special pilot episode, I will repeat the look in the first and last episode of every season. Let’s face it, real girls repeat their favorite clothes, why not Brenda Leigh Johnson?
